Routine checks help prevent equipment failure, meet insurance and legal requirements, and ensure your business is fully prepared to protect employees and visitors during emergencies.
In addition to exit lighting and emergency lighting inspections, we also check:

Our Inspection Process
At Compass Fire & Safety, we follow a comprehensive inspection process to ensure your exit lighting and emergency lighting are fully compliant with safety regulations and always ready to protect your business.
Visual Inspection
We start by inspecting all lighting fixtures and safety switches for any visible damage, wear, or obstructions. We check that exit signs and emergency lights are properly mounted, clean, and clearly visible.
Functionality Test
Exit and Emergency Lighting: We simulate a power failure to ensure the lights automatically switch to battery mode and remain illuminated for the required 90 minutes.
Battery and Component Check
For exit lighting and emergency lighting, we test the battery backup systems to ensure they are in working order and capable of sustaining the lights during a power outage. If necessary, we replace any faulty batteries or components.
Record Keeping
Each inspection is logged, noting the inspection date, technician details, and any required maintenance. This documentation ensures your business remains compliant with regulatory standards.
Maintenance and Replacement
If any lighting is faulty, we perform necessary repairs or replacements. We also handle battery replacements for emergency lighting to ensure consistent operation during emergencies.
Scheduling Future Inspections
After completing the inspection, we schedule your next six-month inspection and send reminders to keep your business compliant and protected.
